Somehow, somewhere, sometime, [we] all fit into the grand scheme of life. It is a puzzle to which [we] are a part of. The list is not to "label" or be offensive to anyone in anyway. [We] are persons with complex emotions, attitudes, and beliefs. The where, when and how we fit into the puzzle is determined by these three basic aspects, generally speaking.
The word "I," a word I use way to often (see, I did it again ;-), refers to me. Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Scott LaMay, founder of Fox Valley Singles. I invite you to read
my story which will give you an idea of where I was emotionally when faced with my life changing tragedy, how I got thru it, and the condition of my heart today. I have asked my ex-wife to share her view on "what happened" in her words too. It takes two! We can learn from the experiences of others, but the hitting bottom experience often makes one seek change. It's a choice as to whether that change will be positive or negative.
Taking ownership comes from my heart. This is one small way I can give back what the Lord, community and friends brought me back from. It was a very dark place! They were available to me, but the choice to change was mine. Myself, as well as others, make ourselves available to you. We are people committed to "quality of life." If we impact a "single life," makes our being vulnerable worth the risk.
Fox Valley Singles does not discriminate. Fox Valley Singles is governed by Grand Quest Wisconsin LLC. Non-profit status is expected in 2008.
There are groups/clubs which are not affiliated with churches or religious organizations represented by Fox Valley Singles. We recognize not everyone believes in one God. It is not implied that [groups] giving permissions to print information and/or events endorse religious organizations. We all have something in common though. We all want others to experience something more out of life. What does that mean to you?
Fox Valley Singles will take a moderate position to Christianity out of respect to people uncomfortable with religion. It is proven through several studies that Spirituality is as important to healing and good health, as is medicine, and necessary to experience hope and gratitude for all that life has to offer people who have faith, believing in something other than themselves as their source of life.
Faith heals
A study at Dartmouth College found that among 232 open-heart surgery patients, non-believers were three times more likely to die within six months of the operation than those who reported that they receive solace from religious and community groups. A Duke University study of 1,700 older people reported that those who attended weekday services were half as likely as non-attendees to have high levels of interleukin 6, a protein linked to Alzheimer's, cancer, coronary disease and osteoporosis.
Words of wisdom
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.
- Antoine de Saint-Exupery
A faithful friend is the medicine of life.
- Ecclesiastes 6:16
A sharp mind will find a truth for itself. A humble spirit will find a truth higher than itself.
Truth is not the property of intellectuals, but of those who know how to escape their own selves.
- Lubavitcher Rebbe
To experience peace and those magic moments in our life, we need to listen and be taught. We need a trustworthy moral compass which is the Holy Bible. Knowing that we are not in control of our lives allows us to take reasonable risks to find something that works. The Bible is where I found the answers to my questions. It's a question of where we look and who we look to. Did you ever wonder why bad things happen to good people?
