New friends gathered around the table after the rafting trip. Dinner preparations are underway. The main course was chicken. After breakfast we asked everyone how they wanted their chicken cooked. Choices were marinaded in Zesty Italian or Lemon Pepper, plain, or two different BBQ sauces.
Everyone brought something to the table. The dishes-to-pass highlighted the meal. As usual, we had way more than we could possibly eat.
When we neared the take-out below Rapid's Resort, I passed a fisherman wadding in the water. What I didn't know at the time was that the fisherman was Paul who had been at a number of Pathway's Friday Night Fellowships in the past and came up to join us for dinner. Paul gladly shared his catch with us. He cleaned the catch and helped Chris cooked them up with the fish he brought up. Needless to say, it was a major PIG-OUT Saturday night!
Rain and cool temperatures had dampened the glowing embers in the fire-pit, but it didn't dampen the warm hearts and spirits that gathered at our table this weekend. |
