Fox Valley Singles.com is a singles' Internet resource that has been in existence since January, 2001. It's been a passion of Scott LaMay, founder, editor, and so called webmaster, to provide this valuable community service free to partners and to our visitors. It is entirely afforded at this time by his personal income, passion, and time, for the purpose of connecting singles' and to assist in their quest to fulfill needs, wants and desires. These three words describe a myriad of things. Of course there are those things which simply can't be met for obvious reasons, yet, Fox Valley Singles does provide a growing resource with a mission to make a difference in the lives of people, directly and indirectly.

The numbers don't matter to LaMay, It's about the one person that was able to reach beyond their circumstance to make a positive change in their life. It's the one person who was ready for a committed relationship and found that special someone they've been hoping and praying for by attending a church, class, seminar, retreat, event, activity, or opportunity available to them. It's about the one person that simply wanted a friend, and found several, to do an activity with to share a similar interest. It's about getting an education on life beyond that which is taught in grades K-12 or college for that matter. It's about learning what society often teaches is not reality, but a fairy tale, filling us with false hope and expectations which push us into poverty, depression, and an agonizing state of loneliness and isolation as it relates to our relationships and hopelessness as it relates to our lifestyle. It's about making new friends and having a reason to leave our comfort zones, on fire with a new purpose in life. Now that's what we're talking about! Passion for life itself and celebrated daily. A fuel to not only light the fire, but keep it burning, which tears of joy will never extinguish. There is great satisfaction in seeing others grow in their relationship with Christ and with others while maturing in wisdom to overcome the holds of earthly possessions and focus on those things that go beyond happiness to true joy in life -- a state of contentment few people experience whether married or single.

Truth is something most of us expect to hear and read. We've heard the oath, I solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me God -- please state your full name. Why shouldn't we be skeptical? We see and hear the lies every day. The key is whole truth. We should feel just as if told a lie if someone knows the whole truth but withholds it. Millions of singles use Internet dating web sites. Research shows honesty is on the top of the list when looking for a friend or life partner. Why should we expect anything less?

There are people who take all the credit regardless who deserves it and doesn't care who gets hurt, believing it won't be them. Then there are people who relinquish it freely for the sake of their values. There are those who tell little white lies to make themselves look like something they're not, even to the extent of falsifying documents. We all know people like that. When we grow in maturity through wisdom and experience, we learn there is little gained and much to lose by not being true to ourselves and to others. The truth always comes out eventually to bite us in the butt. We also learn our character is what makes us or breaks us.

The founder of Fox Valley Singles is not running for public office, nor is he out to take credit for the work and acts of kindness of others, or make more out of something than it really is so it sounds and looks better and more believable. The author of this editorial is none other than he, Scott LaMay, writing in third person. To retain an active voice, I will switch to first person and take ownership of my thought's, opinions, perspectives and passions. The truth is that the real work and accomplishments are done by the many individuals and organizations dedicated to singles everywhere, not just here in Wisconsin. They plan and host events. They foster friendships. They nurture the human spirit. They take financial risk in hopes to bring singles together for a purpose. To learn, to relate, to discover. Often doing so using personal funds with little regard for themselves. It's done all for you and for others like you.

As founder of Fox Valley Singles, I indirectly represent a few of those caring individuals and organizations by providing an Internet media which is relevant to singles. My only affiliation is that I attend many of the events and use the resources available myself and wish to share the information and opportunities with others like me -- those who are single and hopefully lov'in it. Although, I'll never forget how I got here. And the frightening journey it was getting to the point in my life where fear and loss had a positive influence for change. It's quite a story but heard worse.

Over the years we've seen groups and partners come and go. It's alway a loss to the community when a singles group ceases to exist. I feel a deep debt to the organizer(s) for their service to others. But often their risk and frustration is to great to continue and their pride hurt. We don't just lose a group, but people who drive the group too. Rarely do they join forces with another group to make them more diversified. These are the consequences of doing great acts of kindness that don't always come cheap to the individual, group or community. Most singles groups are not operated as a profitable business and they are not out for your hard earned dollar. Those that are can be easily recognized and often hard to resist due to the advertising and propaganda used to attract membership or clients. Singles groups are not out to convert anyone into believing in something they don't. We all have choices to make. Some are good, some are bad. We learn from both and there is no gray area. But all to often we're ashamed to share the bad ones, yet down right ecstatic to share the good ones with others. We do have to be particular with who we talk to and what we say to prevent a lawsuit or an angry outburst. We do have a right to free speech in this country. It may help prevent others from a bad experience or preventable loss if they knew the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help us God.

Wisconsin is not the only state with people and organizations dedicated to single persons, but we are a state with a growing population of single people for good reason. Education, jobs, strong families, good parties, team spirit, work ethics, and great entertainment to name a few. Wisconsin residents, as well as tourists, are truly blessed and fortunate to have such a vast array of opportunities and attractions. So why not take advantage of them? Light your fire and fill your heart with passion and purpose. Where is your journey taking you?

Until now, truth and fear has prevented me from writing and posting content. Since my passion to press on has grown stronger and time is becoming more of a seasonal luxury, the fire inside has me jumping hoops to stay clear of the heat. Yet I will be pressing on with a deeper passion and commitment to our future's. I look forward to the challenge with great enthusiasm. Over the next several months many changes will be taking place that will effect our futures long term. Our values and rights are at stake. You alone can make the difference. Please vote with this knowledge and a passion for life. One which can be celebrated as a single person as well as if married by current definition.

Wishing you contentment beyond your dreams!
Dance as if no one is watching,

Scott LaMay
